Application for Admission

Applicants must submit the following credentials:

1. Application for Admission to MSSU
2. Complete and Submit Application for Admission to Dental Hygiene Programs
3. Official transcript(s) for all colleges and universities ever attended sent to MSSU Admissions department
4. Photocopy of your current transcript to MSSU Dental Hygiene Program
5. Photocopy of schedule of courses you are taking in the spring of the year of application, or statement that you are not enrolled for classes
6. Letter indicating reasons for selecting the dental hygiene program, related experiences, motivation and other pertinent data

The deadline for application is January 31 of each year. Send all your information at one time; it would be advisable to send your application packet via certified mail. You will be notified by early May as to the status of your application.

All dental hygiene students are required to undergo a physical examination and meet the physical and mental abilities required to achieve the clinical objectives; undergo a dental examination, must read and sign the Communicable Disease Policy, complete the necessary immunizations, maintain current CPR articulation at the Health Care Provider level and carry malpractice and health insurance. Random drug and alcohol testing and criminal background check will be performed before admittance into the program at your expense. If you have a record of previous felonious or criminal acts, you will NOT be able to obtain a dental hygiene license.
