Transfer Credit
Earned
In general, courses taken at other nationally accredited colleges
or universities will transfer to Southern. First year students may have earned
college credit through three methods:
- Dual credit earned with a
high school course – Southern accepts credit from other colleges
for courses completed in high school if the courses are comparable to ones
offered at Southern. Each course is evaluated individually when Southern
receives an official transcript from the college or university granting
credit. You may view the course
equivalency guide to see what has transferred in the past from many
institutions.
- Credit by examination is transferable if
the exam score meets established requirements at Southern. Visit our AP, and CLEP website for more
information. You may view the course
equivalency guide to see what has transferred in the past from many
institutions.
- Completed a course at an
accredited community college, college, or university. Each course is evaluated
individually when Southern receives an official transcript from the
college or university granting credit.
The
grades earned in the transfer courses are calculated in each
student’s cumulative grade point average. Students are required to
have official transcripts sent from all colleges and universities
through which credit has been attempted.
Entering
students must request that an official transcript from each institution be sent
to:
