Missouri’s Professional Development Programs to be Featured in Stanford University Study!


NSDC logoThe National Staff Development council (NSDC) and Stanford University has selected Missouri as one of four states to be profiled in a collection of case studies highlighting exemplary professional development policies and practices.  Missouri was selected on the basis of the national Schools and Staffing Survey 200708, NAEP Teacher Questionnaire 2009, NAEP score trends, and other exploratory research on the state’s education policies and practices.


The case studies are the third phase of a multi-year research project, examining professional development practices internationally and here in the United States in an effort to bring attention to the possibilities of supporting high quality professional development.  The purpose of the case studies is to examine more closely the state and district policies and practices that may be linked to greater access for teachers to high quality professional development and to improved learning outcomes for students.  You may obtain the Phase I report by using this link:
