E-Mail Service Policies and Guidelines
The Ask a Librarian electronic reference service is available to anyone
with a valid e-mail account.
However, in responding to questions, first priority will be given
to MSSU faculty, staff and students.
Every attempt will be made to respond
to questions with 24-48 hours, excluding weekends and MSSU holidays. Response
time is always related to the complexity of the question. In some cases we may
ask for more information or question clarification before a proper response will
be given.
Complex questions and questions involving extensive research are beyond
the scope of this service. If a question requires more in-depth research, we encourage
you to come to the library where we can assist you. Examples of appropriate questions
include:
-
Does the library receive Sports Illustrated magazine?
-
How do I search the catalog to locate a book?
-
Can you tell me how to begin looking for information about gun control
laws?
You MAY NOT request materials, place holds, renewals
or Interlibrary Loans through this service.
