Archives -material about the history
of the university, local history in Southwest Missouri, mining in
the Tri-State District (MO, KS, OK) as well as books, manuscripts,
and personal papers of notable citizens, politicians and historians.
Audio Visuals -television viewing
room with DVD & VHS players, access to laminating services,
audio visual kits, a video phone, an audio cassette player, a filmstrip
viewer, a record player, and workstations for the hearing/visually
impaired.
Curriculum -a collection of Pre-K through 8th grade textbooks
that support the Teacher Education program
Faculty Promotion Folders -a select number of promotion folders
are available in the 1st floor conference room. Faculty are welcome
to drop in to review these promotion folder examples at any time
between 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Appointments must
be made with Ann Quade (x9386, quade-a@mssu.edu)
for night or weekend viewing. These folders may not leave this room
or be copied.
Government Documents
-includes select Federal publications for the Seventh Congressional
District of Missouri.
Juvenile & Young Adult Books - popular fiction
for children of all ages, including a section of award winning (Newbery
& Caldecott) books.
Law -contains select volumes of the United States Code,
Supreme Court Reporter, Federal Reporter, Missouri Statutes, Shepards
Acts and Cases and Shepards Missouri Citations.
Main - more than 200,000 books located on the 2nd floor of
the library.
Microforms - printed works (usually journals
or newspapers) that have been filmed for storage and preservation.
Reference - over 7,000 encyclopedias, handbooks,
dictionaries, almanacs, atlases, and other resources used for quick
access to facts, statistics, and an overview of topics.
Reserves - a collection of items such
as instructor-prepared exams, problem solutions, sample papers,
and class syllabi as well as copies of book chapters or journal
articles, DVDs or VHS tapes.
