Choosing the right university is a tough decision. At Southern we make this decision easier by providing several different housing styles from which to choose, offering fun activities at which to make new friends, and supplying you with on campus entertainment in many forms.

 

No matter what your building choice, your surroundings will be comfortable, pleasant, and have convenient access to campus activities. When you arrive, your first challenge will be meeting new people and making friends. Where else can you live with 700 people around your own age who are all experiencing the same situations?

 

A place to stay is not all the Residence Life Department at Southern has to offer. We believe recreation and relaxation should be part of your time spent in the residence halls, so we supply your students with the means to have a good time right on campus. We have a Student Life Center that offers exercise equipment, a computer lab, TV lounge, ping pong, pool, Playstation 2 gaming centers and more. Outside we have a lighted sand volleyball court, tennis court, basketball court and nine hole Frisbee golf course. A little something for everyone!

 

The Residence Halls Association (RHA) also aids in getting our residence hall students involved in a variety of weekly activities. From the first night the halls open, RHA will have events planned to entice you from your room and interact with your fellow students. Every Friday and Saturday during the year, RHA will sponsor an event. As well as these smaller events, RHA holds several large events throughout the year.

 

Staying in the residence halls is a unique experience not to be missed. Come get immersed in the campus environment!
