Things To Bring

Inmages of Residence LifeThings to bring or not to bring
The residence hall rooms are of good size, but are not huge, so your student should not bring items they won’t use. Before they move in, we will provide students with their roommate(s) contact information so they can coordinate who is bringing what.

When packing, your child should be aware that they may not be able to bring every article of clothing they own. We recommend they bring seasonal clothing, but keep in mind that it is Missouri and weather can change from day to day. We also recommend they have a few items that are out of season just in case.

Valuable items such as computers, video game systems, bicycles, television sets, and expensive calculators should have some form of identification engraved or marked on them. Your child should also keep some form of paper record such as the receipt or the serial number.

It is a good idea to carry some sort of personal property or renters insurance. Check to see if your current insurance policy covers your student’s belongings while living on campus.

Keep in mind when decorating the room that students may not nail or screw anything into the walls. If they put up pictures or posters, make sure the adhesive can be easily removed and does not take the paint off the wall. We recommend 3M adhesive strips.
