There are many benefits to living on campus besides the added support staff and security that is at hand. National studies suggest that students who live on campus are more successful in the classroom. The convenience cannot be matched. Why spend time looking for parking spaces and filling up on gas when you can leave your room and in five minutes be in your class? Don’t overlook the importance of good meals prepared for you, either. Believe it or not, fast food bills can get expensive and surviving on bologna sandwiches and ramen noodles becomes old. Our food service contractor provides balanced meals at a convenient location, so even students on-the-go don’t have to sacrifice healthy food for something “quick.”
At MSSU, staff members put great value on a student’s social growth. In the residence hall setting there are students from across the country and around the world. With this kind of diversity under one roof, students have more opportunities to meet new people and to make new friends. It is an experience like no other.
Campus living is the best way to get adjusted to campus life. That is why we require all freshmen under the age of 21 to live in the residence halls unless they are married or living with their parents.
