Goals
Theme:
Excellence in Student Success and International
Education Missouri Southern State University views accreditation self-study as
an opportunity to advance a culture that emphasizes and fosters
the success of students. Accordingly, the Steering Committee
has established the following goals:
- To create a greater sense of ownership and promote the accomplishment
of the Missouri Southern State University mission, values,
goals, and plans.
- To focus on student success in the first year of
college by integrating into the HLC self-study an evaluation
using the Policy Center’s Foundations of Excellence Dimensions
and associated Performance Indicators.
- To promote a culture of student success throughout
the college experience in an academically challenging environment.
- To evaluate and improve the effectiveness of institutional
systems designed to help all students succeed in the multicultural-global
communities in which they will live and work.
- To ascertain institutional strengths and opportunities for
improvement.
- To develop action plans to enhance strengths and to address
opportunities for improvement.
- To provide evidence that Missouri Southern State University
meets the Higher Learning Commission's accreditation Criteria.
- To
enable the Higher Learning Commission's peer reviewers to
suggest ways MSSU can most effectively fulfill its mission
and accomplish its objectives.
