Description:
This exhibit displays the internal construction
of one of the first marine seismic streamers. The
active portion of the streamer is the pressure
sensitive piezo-electric crystal which generates
electrical currents in response to pressure changes
caused by explosive detonations in the water.
also shown are pre-amplifiers and steel stress
cables as well as wires from the detectors.
This exhibit results from the original 1947 patent
by L. C. Paslay.
