Did you know?

Quartz is one of the most common minerals found in nature. It is used in computers, satellites, and to hynotize birds, but it doesn't help exploration geophysicists find oil!

Donor:

Type:

N/A

Manufacturer:

Wm. C. Lamb (for Gulf Research Corp)

Description:

The two open holes in the (transparent) frame are positioned at source points, the short connecting bar at the opposite end of the frame is adjusted to the distance of the two source points (to keep the bars parallel). The sliding T-bar is connected to the left bar and adjusted to the correct path length for this source point. The device is rotated about the source points until the T intersects the right bar at the path length for the right source point. The T then represents the reflector element between the two reflection points. (From Klaus Helbig, 10-7-98).
