W. T. Born
William Theodore Born, graduate of Illinois Oak Park High School, winner by competitive examination of a scholarship to the University of Chicago, Phi Beta Kappa student par excellence, early and continuously for thirty-four years inventor, investigator, and developer of methods and instrumentation for finding and unlocking nature's secret stores of petroleum, Vice President and Director of the Research Laboratory of the Geophysical Research Corporation, Fellow of the Institute of Electrical Engineers, member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, member of the A.I.M.M.E., member of the Geophysical Union, member of the Central Committee on Radio Facilities of the American Petroleum Institute, twice Vice President and President of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, untiring worker for the welfare of that society by publishing numerous papers, by participating in discussions, by serving on the Best Paper Award Committee, the Publications Committee, the Reviews Committee, and the Research Committee, by serving as President of the Tulsa Geophysical Society and as its District Representative to the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, I have the pleasurable privilege vested in me by the Society of Exploration Geophysicists to proclaim you an honorary member of that society and to present you with this token of their esteem.
