In the 2011-2012 academic year, a grant from Missouri Campus Compact supported the development of new materials for the MSSU Service Learning Program. If you'd like to learn more about Service Learning, please take a few minutes to review the "Curious about Service Learning?" tutorial.
The "Make A Difference" Program provides funding for MSSU Service Learning projects. Students or student groups engaged in Service Learning Courses working with the Resource Development Center may apply. For more information, please visit the "Make A Difference" Webpage.
Along with the materials developed for the Service Learning program, a second project, funded by Missouri Campus Compact, allowed the Resource Development Center to conduct a baseline survey of Service Learning students. The Service Learning Survey will help us begin tracking longitudinal results of our efforts. The Snapshot Report gives the basic results of the survey.
The Resource Development Center supports two awards for Service Learning. The "Spirit of Service Award" recognizes the student or group project that best exemplifies Service Learning each semester. The "Spirit of Service Traveling Trophy" is awarded to the Department, Student Organization that best contributes to an atmosphere of Service Learning at Missouri Southern.
