Missouri Southern State University's Spiva Library, home to the Resource Development Center, is a Cooperating Collection for the Foundation Center.
Established in 1956, the Foundation Center is the leading source of information about philanthropy worldwide. Through data, analysis, and training, it connects people who want to change the world to the resources they need to succeed. The Center maintains the most comprehensive database on U.S. and, increasingly, global grantmakers and their grants — a robust, accessible knowledge bank for the sector. It also operates research, education, and training programs designed to advance knowledge of philanthropy at every level.
At Missouri Southern's Spiva Library, you can access the Foundation Center online materials. The Foundation Center also offers free workshops through the RDC on an annual basis.
The Foundation Center provides several print resources which are available in the Reference section near the MSSU RDC (Spiva Library, 3rd floor). The Foundation Center Core Collection list is available online. The complete MSSU RDC Reference Materials list is updated regularly, too. You are welcome to use these resources in the library.
Please be aware that the University has other-than-regular business hours during school breaks, holidays and summer. The small staff at the MSSU RDC is often away from the office meeting with MSSU or community partners. We encourage you to make an appointment to use the Resource Development Center computer lab to access these resources if you need help.
