External Funding at MSSU

RDC Service and Service Learning Programs

  • Many of the Resource Development Center programs are the result of external funding.
  • National Day of Service is funded by an award from the Corporation for National and Community Service
  • MLK Day of Service is funded by grants from Missouri Campus Compact and HOPE Worldwide.

Campus External Funding Opportunities

The RDC works with faculty and staff across campus to bring external funding opportunties to the University.  The Emergency Management in Higher Education (EMHE) grant, establishment of an infant care program at the MSSU Child Care Center, development of a recycling project for the Enviornmental Health program and creation of a smoking cecesation program impact the University and Community.

Community Collaboration

Projects like Hungry Tiger engaged MSSU Service Learning students in a project where Carthage R-9 Junior High students helped meet the needs of their food-insecure peers while increasing their STEM outcomes, thus bridging the acheivment gap.
