Registration Procedures

Class Schedules

The Schedule of Classes is available online.  A limited number of copies are available for purchase in the bookstore.  To search the class schedule in LioNet, follow these steps:

  1. Select "Registration Tools" from the Student Quick Links menu.
  2. Select "Look Up Classes"
  3. Select the term you want to search.
  4. Search for classes by subject, course number, delivery type, days, instructor, and more!

Pre-Registration Instructions

Pre-Registration is open to currently enrolled students only.

  1. Make an appointment with your advisor based on your approved date to register according to the schedule below. A list of available appointment times should be posted by the office door of the advisor.
  2. Print a CAPP Degree Evaluation to take to your advising appointment. The CAPP will contain your academic record which will be helpful to you and your advisor in planning your schedule.
  3. Be prompt in keeping your advisor appointment. Your advisor should assist in selecting appropriate classes; however, you share in the responsibility of selecting courses. Check your catalog for prerequisite requirements.
  4. After meeting with the major advisor, your schedule will be entered into LioNet by your advisor or your advisor will provide you with your Alternate PIN allowing you to register yourself for courses (only for students in good academic standing with 30 or more earned hours).

Summer and Fall 2012 Pre-Registration Schedule

April 6, 2012 Students with Disabilities (must be pre-approved by the Coordinator of Disability Services), Honors Program Students, Junior & Senior Varsity Athletes and Junior & Senior Athletic Trainers, and approved participants in Project Stay
April 9, 2012 Seniors with 90+ hours, Graduate level students
April 12, 2012 Juniors with 60+ hours
April 16, 2012 Sophomores with 30+ hours
April 18, 2012 Transfer students
April 19, 2012 Freshmen with 1+ hours, Post graduates
April 23, 2012 Open enrollment

Pre-Registration ends May 24, 2012.  After this date, students will need to register during Regular Registration.

Regular Registration

Regular registration is for students who are unable to pre-register.

Registration will be from 1:00-4:30 p.m. in the major department. Undeclared majors should register with Advising, Counseling & Testing Services in Hearnes Hall. Faculty and staff will not be available for advising or registration before 1:00 p.m. on these dates.

May 30-31, 2012 Summer 2012 Semester
August 16-17, 2012 Fall 2012 Semester

Returning students who were not enrolled during the Spring 2012 semester will start the registration procedure in the Admissions Office, Hearnes Hall.

Late Registration

Late registration will be in the major department. Undeclared majors should register with Advising, Counseling & Testing Services in Hearnes Hall. Changes in class schedules may be made during this time.

June 4-5, 2012 Summer 2012 Semester
August 20-24, 2012 Fall 2012 Semester

Special Registration

Adding a single class or enrolling in multiple classes will be done in the appropriate department of the class only with the permission of the instructor and Head of the Department offering the course.

Incoming Freshmen

Southern Welcome Orientation and Pre-registration programs will be held for all new freshmen. A reservation for participating in the program is required. Complete the online registration form or contact the Southern Welcome office at (417) 625-3158 to make your reservation.

Transfer Students & Former Students

Transfer orientation and registration programs for former students and all new transfer students will be held. Students should bring an unofficial copy of transcript(s) to assist in selecting courses for registration. A reservation for participating in the program is required. Complete the online registration form or contact the Southern Welcome office at (417) 625-3158 to make your reservation.

Transfer students and former students who cannot attend the transfer orientation should contact the department of their major to enroll. Undecided majors will enroll through Advising, Counseling & Testing Services in Hearnes Hall.

Auditing a Course

The cost to audit is the same as for a credit course. The student must obtain a "Permit to Audit" from the Registrar's Office. The signatures of the instructor as well as the Dean must be obtained.

The signed "Permit to Audit" must be returned to the Registrar's Office by the end of the second week of classes (for fall and spring semesters) or the end of the first week of classes (for summer semester). No change from audit to credit or from credit to audit may be made after the second week of classes (for full terms).

Students with Disabilities

Accommodations for students with disabilities are made on an individual basis based on the student's current documentation. Students who need services or would like more information should contact Judy Elimelech at (417) 659-3725 in the Learning Center.
