Project Director and Website Editor-in-Chief (Karl J. Schmidt): The director of Project South Asia and editor-in-chief of the PSA Website is Dr. Karl J. Schmidt, Director of International Programs and Associate Professor of History at South Dakota State University. From 1994 to 2003, Dr. Schmidt taught at Missouri Southern State University, where his specialty was the history of South Asia. His publications include An Atlas and Survey of South Asian History (London and Armonk, NY: M. E. Sharpe, 1995). Dr. Schmidt has considerable overseas research experience in both archives and museums, in England as well as in India and Pakistan.
