JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - Understanding and
accommodating cultural differences is a necessity in the world's
international economy.
The International trade and Quality Center at Missouri Southern
State College's School of Business Administration presents the workshop
"Doing Business In the Middle East" from 11:30 a.m.-2
p.m., Thursday, April 18 in Room 310 in Billingsly Student Center at
MSSC.
The workshop will feature individuals and local professional
born in the Middle East who will discuss a variety of issues including:
- Demographic,
political, religious and economic outlook of the Middle East;
- Important differences
in business language usage in Middle Eastern nations;
- Cultural and
professional 'dos and don'ts';
- Terrorism's effect on
U.S. companies doing business in the Middle East;
- How to differentiate,
price, distribute, promote and label goods & services;
- E-commerce: Is the
Middle East able to support electronic commerce; and
- Importance of culture
in transacting business in various Middle Eastern nations.
The workshop will take place beginning with an 11:30 a.m.
networking luncheon featuring an Americanized Middle Eastern buffet.
Payment in advance, which includes the cost of the luncheon is $10 per
person.
