JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - A total of 25 students
will graduate from the Missouri Southern State College Law Enforcement
Academy in ceremonies scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 12 in the
Mills Anderson Criminal Justice Center Auditorium at MSSC.
The Missouri Department of Public Safety certifies eligible
students upon successful completion of the Academy as Peace Officers in
the state of Missouri. Those taking part receive training in Missouri
criminal statutes, constitutional law, criminal investigation, patrol
techniques, defense tactics training, physical training, firearms
training and other skills and abilities deemed necessary by the state
for Missouri law enforcement officers.
The Law Enforcement Academy staff consists of eight MSSC
instructors and 19 adjunct instructors from local law enforcement and
fire departments, prosecutors' offices, attorneys-at-law, the Regional
Crime Laboratory and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
