JOPLIN, MO (SNS) -Dr. Delores Honey, Carthage, Assistant Vice President, Assessment and Institutional Research at Missouri Southern State University, was recently elected to the American Council on Education (ACE) Network Executive Board. She began her term of office in July 2003.

The American Council on Education is the major coordinating body for higher education institutions in the United States. The Office of Women in Higher Education (OWHE) is a division of ACE.

The Executive Board supports a national system of state networks for women in higher education by serving as liaisons to state planning boards, mentoring state coordinators, and advising the OWHE on issues relating to identifying, developing, encouraging, advancing, leading and supporting women in higher education administrative careers.

The Board meets monthly by conference call and prior to the annual Leadership Conference for State Coordinators, which it leads. The Executive Board consists of women presidents and senior-level administrators from across the United States. The annual meeting is held in conjunction with the annual conference for the entire ACE organization.

The Executive Board takes part in a strategic planning retreat in early August of each year. Dr. Honey became a member of the Missouri Planning Committee in 1984. She became State Treasurer in 1996 and State Coordinator in 1999.
