JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - The Literary Lions Book Club is seeking participants to discuss this semester's literary works, the play A Raisin in the Sun, by Lorraine Hansberry, and Hansberry’s autobiography,To be Young, Gifted and Black.

Dr. Jim Lile, associate professor of theatre at MSSU, will moderate the Literary Lions Book Club this semester.

* The group will meet at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, March 16 and 6:30 p.m., Thursday, March 30 to discuss A Raisin in the Sun.

* The group will meet at 6:30 on Monday, April 13 for a discussion of To be Young, Gifted and Black.

* At 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 20, they will view the film version of A Raisin in the Sun.

All meetings will be held in MSSU’s Spiva Library near the University Java coffee shop.

As a Literary Lions members, participants’ individual copies of A Raisin in the Sun and To be Young, Gifted and Black will be donated back to the Spiva Library.

The total cost to participate is $25 for the general public or $15 for Friends of the Spiva Library group members. The opportunity to participate is limited to the first 15 participants. Those interested should respond no later than March 1.
