JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - KGCS-TV will bring St. Louis Cardinals baseball fans 41 regular-season and one Spring Training telecast during the 2006 baseball season. The telecast will be a Spring Training match-up with the Los Angeles Dodgers at noon on Saturday, March 25. The season-opener at Philadelphia will air at 2 p.m. Monday, April 3.

Televised games this season include those with National League rivals such as the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds, as well as Inter-league games with the Kansas City Royals and Detroit Tigers.

"We know that there are a lot Cardinals baseball fans in the Joplin area, and we're glad to be able to once again televise these games," says Judy Stiles, KGCS General Manager.

She says KGCS is also promoting the Baseball Boosters program, with area businesses this season.

Boosters receive on-air recognition during Cardinals telecasts. Businesses interested in participating in the KGCS Baseball Boosters program may get more information by contacting Stiles at 625-9777.

Game may be seen on KGCS-TV, shown locally on UHF channel 57, Cable One channel 7, and Mediacom channel 77. Weekend games will also appear on area cable television systems airing a channel for Southern Instructional Television from MSSU.

Persons wishing a copy of the telecast schedule may find it on the station website, www.mssu.edu/kgcs.

They may also stop by the KGCS studios or send a stamped, self-addressed envelope to KGCS-TV, Missouri Southern State University, 3950 E. Newman Road, Joplin, Missouri 64801.
