Bethlehem Mayor

JOPLIN, MO (SNS) – An upcoming edition of the KGCS-TV program Newsmakers will feature the mayor of one of the world’s most famous cities.

.Judy Stiles, program host, will interview the Mayor of Bethlehem, Dr. Victor Batarseh. He discusses the sister city relationship established with Joplin, and how such a partnership can help improve ties and exchanges.

He also shares information about life in Bethlehem today, and the challenges faced by people in that region. Dr. Batarseh discusses his interest in increasing tourism to Bethlehem and shares his thoughts about what is needed to establish peace in the Middle East.

The program will air on the following stations at the following days and times:

• KGCS: Wednesday, Nov. 2, 5:30 p.m.
• KOAM: Saturday, Nov. 5, 5:30 a.m.
• KOZJ: Sunday, Nov. 8, 12:30 p.m.

Newsmakers is produced by KGCS-TV as a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University. KGCS airs on Joplin/Webb City cable channel 7, UHF channel 57 and on cable systems in several surrounding communities.
