Mr. Music Wins Inaugural Fine Arts Radio International Contest Prize
Edward Tarte, a math teacher at Kingwood High School in the Houston, Texas area, is the winner of the Fine Arts Radio International Award 2000 for his series of programs he calls Mr. Music. Originally produced for students at Kingwood High School, Mr. Tarte marketed the series nationally to classical radio stations early in the spring of 2000.

"...listenable and the choice of music seemed good for the average student...The comments on Haydn's 100th Symphony were excellent."
"...Mr. Tarte is sensitive to good program skills in that he presents musical selections with variety in each program... I felt Mr. Tarte's 'Mr. Music' concerts were of exceptional EXCELLENT quality."

The annual Fine Arts Radio International® Awards contest recognizes radio programs or radio series containing a substantial amount of classical music education. Entries do not need to be instructional in nature, but the educational component cannot be incidental to the overall tone of the program or series. The inaugural Fine Arts Radio International® Lifetime Achievement Award has been bestowed on Karl Haas, producer and host of the long-running radio series, Adventures in Good Music.
