Missouri Southern State University, an NCAA Division II member institution and a member of the Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA), is seeking applicants for the position of Women’s Head Volleyball Coach.
The Women’s Head Volleyball Coach will be responsible for the direction and oversight of the volleyball program at Missouri Southern State University and the coaching functions related to the sport of volleyball. These functions include, but are not limited to the following: coaching, recruiting, practice, game day preparation, game strategies, alumni communication, fundraising, student-athlete well-being, student- athlete success and management of staff. It is critical that this position supervise staff, establish a strong working relationship with the University and surrounding community, adhere to NCAA, MIAA and university rules and regulations, develop the student-athletes physically, mentally and emotionally for the Division II competition, organize and manage camps and clinics and any other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics . Applicant should have strong recruiting skills and knowledge of the NCAA Division II rules and must have experience working in a diverse population.
Qualifications include the following: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university required. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 4 years of coaching experience with a Division I or Division II collegiate experience preferred. Previous head coaching experience at any level is preferred. Current certification in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automatic external defibrillator (AED) use is preferred at the time of hire and will be required prior to participation in any countable athletically related activities as defined by the NCAA. Candidate must have valid driver’s license and the ability to meet insurance requirements for driving university vehicles. Missouri Southern State University is currently seeking applications for a Dance & Cheer Intern. This person will assist coaching staff with Dance and Cheer program operations. Candidate must have prior collegiate dance skill, knowledge, or experience; or any combination of education and experience. Must have experience in working with a diverse population. Prior cheer related experience is a plus. Must be able to teach jazz, hip-hop, and pom style choreography. Attendance to all home sporting football and basketball events is required.
