Missouri Southern State University is seeking applicants for a full-time Coordinator of Athletics Facilities Operations. This position oversees game management of athletic events. The job responsibilities include coordinating, scheduling, and managing the logistics entertainment and sporting events at the major athletic venues which includes Young Gym, Leggett and Platt Center, Robert W. Plaster Sports Complex, Fred Hughes Stadium and Hal Boden Soccer Field. This position includes supervision of the Athletic Facility Caretaker, working with coaches, department heads and media representatives and event related personnel. Position is open until filled.
Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Two or more years related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Missouri Southern State University, an NCAA Division II program part of the MIAA conference located in Joplin, MO, is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. It is a non-benefited Intern position. This position will also meet the requirements needed to sit for the CSCCa SCCC certification test.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in overall direction and coordination of strength and conditioning programs for 13 varsity sports. Coordinating with coaching staffs of assigned teams to design and implement safe and effective programs. Assisting in the every day operations of the facility. Applicants must have strong knowledge of teaching technique of Olympic style lifting exercises.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required-Masters preferred in appropriate field. SCCC certification preferred. Prefer at least 2 years of experience in a collegiate athletic setting. Committed to the profession of strength and conditioning a must.
COMPENSATION: $24,000 for a 12-month contract.

The Video and Social Media Intern within the Athletic Media Relations Department at Missouri Southern will report to the Athletic Media Relations Director and will be responsible for video content for both the Athletic Department website (www.mssulions.com) as well as its social media entities on both Twitter and Facebook. Video Aspect - This individual will be charged with capturing game highlights from various home events throughout the year, then packaging them together for use on the department website as well as Facebook and YouTube. Intern will also be responsible for production of the weekly TV show for the department and will serve as a vital part of the implementation of a video board for men’s and women’s basketball. Additional duties such as developing feature stories or other media needs may be assigned. At least one year of previous professional or student experience in the field is required as well as an undergraduate degree. An equivalent amount of experience can be substituted for education. Proficiency in the operation of video equipment including cameras and editing software is also required. This position is a 10-month agreement with an $8,500 stipend.
