Assistant Professor Public Relations

School of Arts and Sciences- Communications

The Communication Department invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor position in Public Relations. Must exhibit ability to lead a growing program in public relations and teach courses in the current program. Other responsibilities include developing new courses in public relations, programming for a new health communication emphasis degree, and serving as faculty advisor to MSSU’s PRSSA chapter. Professional public relations or related experience required. The position requires a commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level; the course load is four courses per semester. A Ph.D. is preferred, ABD or MA in public relations will be considered. This appointment is scheduled to begin August 2013. Closing date for consideration will be February 11, 2013. Screening will begin immediately and continue until a qualified candidate is selected.
