Admission Requirements

  • GPA: 2.25 for new freshmen  OR
    2.0 for college transfer students
  • ACT: 21 or SAT: 980 Critical Reading + Math
  • Class Rank: Top 50%

English Requirements

To join regular academic courses:

  • TOEFL 68 w/25 writing
  • IELTS 6.0 w/5.5 writing (and no subscore below 5.0)
  • MEPT 85
  • Without an SAT or ACT the student may be required to take an English Placement and Math Placement exam through the respective departments before enrolling in coursework.

Use these five simple steps to become an MSSU International Student!

 

Step One:

Choose your degree program from the following list.

  • Degree programs
  • If you are interested in studying English as a second language, you can choose our International English Program instead of a degree option.

 *This is not required of Exchange Students.

 

Step Two:

Fill out the application, pay the fee, and complete the following documents.

  1. Fill out the Online International Student Application
  2. Pay the application fee of $50 USD
  3. Submit an Advisor Report Form if you are a transfer student from U.S. institution

 

Step Three:

Have your transcripts from previous high school or university studies evaluated through World Education Services (WES).

  • This is a requirement of all international students.The process can take as long as six weeks, so start now to guarantee your transcripts arrive to MSSU on-time!
  • Have the official transcripts sent from WES directly to MSSU:

  • WES is a world-renown transcript evaluator, which will translate your documents and place them on an American grading-scale.

 *This is not required of Exchange Students.

 

Step Four:

Determine how to pay for your time abroad.

 

Step Five:

Be accepted!

  • Receive your Acceptance Letter and I-20 in the mail.
  • Take these documents to your consulate interview!
