JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - William “Bill” Hancock, an LPN student at Franklin Technology Center at MSSU, has been selected as one of twelve post-secondary students in the state of Missouri to receive the 2006 Breaking Traditions Award.

 

"Bill is an extremely deserving individual with a great work ethic,” says Dr. Richard Saporito, Director of FTC at MSSU.

 

Sponsored by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the Breaking Traditions Award honors outstanding career and technical students who are enrolled in career training programs considered to be nontraditional for their genders.

 

This year’s Breaking Traditions winners were honored at the Governor’s Mansion in Jefferson City on Saturday, April 29th.

 

A plaque will be presented to Hancock during a local presentation from 11:30 a.m.- 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 10 at Jim Bob's Restaurant in Joplin.
