JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - Missouri Governor Matt Blunt will come to Missouri Southern State University today (Friday) at 11 a.m. to officially sign Senate Bill 389.
The ceremony will take place in the Student Lounge in the main floor of Billingsly Student Center.
This will be a significant piece of legislation for MSSU. As a result of the legislation, Missouri Southern will receive $19 million for the construction of the Health Science Building, and Southern students will be eligible for 10 times more in financial aid from the state grant program (an increase from $180,000 a year to $1.8 million).
A wide variety of individuals from the college community, government and media are expected to attend.
