FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Public Information Office
In remembrance of those who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 attack, students, faculty and staff are invited to place a red, white or blue carnation at the foot of the Flag of Freedom on the campus oval.
A limited number of 9-11 memorial pins also will be available to those who visit the Flag of Freedom Plaza.
MSSU students, faculty and staff also are encouraged to take a few moments to sign a Memorial Display to thank and honor those who serve and sacrifice every day for the nation’s safety and security.
“In your reflections on 9-11, we ask you to remember our military personnel and their families, law enforcement, fire fighters, first responders, emergency medical personnel, volunteer services and all those who provide essential services during disasters and emergencies,” commented University officials.
The University chimes will ring for one minute for each of the major events of September 11, 2001.
