Cardinals Caravan to Visit MSSU

cardinal caravan logoJOPLIN, MO (SNS) - The St. Louis Cardinals have announced the names of players participating in this year's St. Louis Cardinals Caravan '13 visit to Joplin. 

Current players planning to attend are Shelby Miller, Oscar Taveras and Seth Maness.  Cardinals alumni on the trip include John Mabry, Cal Eldred and Alan Benes.  Cardinals broadcaster Al Hrabosky will serve as emcee.

The caravan will be in Joplin at noon on Saturday, Jan. 19 at Taylor Performing Arts Center on the campus of Missouri Southern State University.  The program is open to the public, free of charge.   Doors to the auditorium will open at 11 a.m. The program will include a chance to hear from players and opportunities for youngsters to get autographs.

The Cardinals are implementing a new autograph ticket system for this year's caravan stop.  The first 400 kids age 15 and under through the door will receive a free autograph ticket.  The ticket guarantees one autograph from each current and former player.

The caravan visit in Joplin is one of 18 cities being visited by the team  Jan. 18 - 21.  The Joplin visit is sponsored by the St. Louis Cardinals, Zimmer Radio, and KGCS-TV.
