News Program Focuses on Safety

JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - The upcoming edition of the Newsmakers interview program on KGCS-TV focuses on safety at Missouri Southern State University. The program follows up on the active shooter drill held on campus in January, with discussion about plans in place to inform people on campus in the event of an emergency. 

Ken Kennedy, MSSU Police Chief, and Bob Harrington, MSSU Physical Plant Director and Risk Manager, will discuss emergency preparedness efforts. 
The program will air the following times on KGCS-TV:

Sunday, Feb. 10 – 5:30 p.m.
Monday, Feb. 11 – 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 12 – 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 13 – 5:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
Thursday, Feb. 14 – 5:30 p.m.

The Newsmakers interview will also air at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16 on KOAM-TV.
KGCS programming may be seen over the air on digital channel 22, as well as on regional cable television systems including Cable One, Mediacom and Suddenlink.The station operates as a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University.
