JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - Students at Missouri Southern State University are now making use of a convenient new Missouri Southern app for their mobile phones.
The app allows students to stay connected to the University by providing access to information about MSSU whenever and wherever they want.
The app, which helps make the overall campus experience more effective, more efficient and more fun, is supported by IOS and Android phones.
Specific features include reviewing book lists, managing course schedules, accessing grades, checking mid-term and final scores, and visiting campus social media connections. A convenient campus map, listing buildings at Missouri Southern, is included.
"We feel this helps us provide better service to our students," says Al Stadler, Chief Information Officer at MSSU. "Almost all students have cell phones and this really helps them keep in touch with the services the University provides."
The technical lead for the project was Jimmie Collins of the MSSU staff.
"He was exceptional in the development and deployment of the app," Stadler states.
The app is designed for use by all MSSU students. To obtain it, a student should go to his/her app store and search for MSSU Mobile. The app can be downloaded free of charge.
Your Active Directory credentials are needed to log into the app once downloaded.
This is your email address without the @mymail.mssu.edu and your PIN.
The service officially began on Friday, August 16.
Students needing assistance with the app should contact the User Services Help Desk at (417) 659-4444.
