JOPLIN, MO (SNS) – In honor of Saudi Arabia National Day, the Saudi Student Club at Missouri Southern State University will be holding a celebration to include their country’s culture through music, dancing and interactive discussion.
The event will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26 in Corley Auditorium in Webster Hall on the MSSU campus
“We hope to inform people about our country and share some of our culture and traditions,” says Ahmed Alanazi, Saudi Student Club president. “Many people in this area know very little about Saudi Arabia, and we hope that by sharing our culture with them, they will have a better understanding about where we come from.”
The presentation, to be performed by students wearing their traditional clothing, will include live Saudi music and dancing and will address issues concerning stereotypes, cultural customs and an overview of Muslim beliefs.
Coffee, tea and refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the public.
