JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - Neosho-area students pursuing their four-year degree in management will soon have a more streamlined process, due to a new partnership between Missouri Southern State University and Crowder College.
The two schools will come together next Thursday, Oct. 11, to sign an articulation agreement enabling MSSU to offer upper-division courses in business administration with an emphasis in management at Crowder College, making it possible for Crowder students to finish their bachelor's degrees through MSSU on the Crowder campus. The signing will be held at 11 a.m. in the Wright Conference Center in the Arnold Farber Building at Crowder's main campus in Neosho.
MSSU will have a satellite office on Crowder's campus with a dedicated admissions counselor working to help students with the transition.
"Forming a partnership like this is an important and necessary step to help these students achieve their dreams of completing a four-year degree," said MSSU President Bruce Speck. "We know that in some cases, students have the desire to finish their degree but not the ability to travel. This agreement makes it possible for both schools to help students meet their goals."
Crowder officials say they are pleased the two schools have been able to develop this offering for students.
"This is a great opportunity for our students to have bachelor degree options on our campus after they complete a degree at Crowder. It was a very positive experience working with the MSSU faculty and staff to develop this partnership. We look forward to working with Southern in the future to create more opportunities for our students," stated Dr. Glenn Coltharp, vice president of academic affairs at Crowder College.
The courses will begin in Spring 2013. For more information, contact MSSU Admissions Counselor Belinda Cotten at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 417.529.9290.
