Are these current headlines from CNN? No. These are top stories from the late first century BCE in which this tragedy by Shakespeare is set.
Mark Antony was a Roman general and one of the three men (triumvirs) who ruled Rome after the assassination of Julius Caesar in 44 B.C. Cleopatra was Pharaoh of Egypt. Many consider the role of Cleopatra one of the most complex female roles in all of Shakespeare's works.
Admission is free for students, faculty and staff, $3 for adults and $1 for senior citizens and non-MSSU students.
