JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - Enrolling at Missouri Southern State University is now easier than ever.
Missouri Southern's "Back to School Open House" will be held from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m and 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27 in the Connor Ballroom on the 3rd Floor of the Billingsly Student Center at Missouri Southern State University.
The Open House will provide a "one-stop shop" for any student who wants to attend Missouri Southern this fall. This program is designed for any student including new, current, returning, transferring, online or veteran.
It will provide special help to students, including those who may be delaying enrollment due to the May 22 tornado.
"We realize the tornado may have contributed to problems with scheduling, paperwork and other issues," says Derek Skaggs, Director of Admissions at MSSU. "We want to make the enrollment process as easy as possible by giving students a chance to enroll at a one-stop shop."
The Open House will allow participants to talk to staff from Admissions, Financial Aid, Bursar (student accounts) and Registrar offices. Students can enroll, process Lion I.D. Cards and parking permits, pick up books, activate university email accounts and take care of anything they need to do before school starts.
First-time freshmen will be enrolled but also will be encouraged to attend the Southern Welcome program and First-Year Assessment on Aug. 18.
