JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - Missouri Southern State University’s 57th graduating class includes 41 students who will graduate with honors at the University’s Commencement ceremonies beginning at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 17 in Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
Twelve students earned a four-year grade point average of 3.9 or above on a 4.0 scale and will graduate Summa Cum Laude.
Three of those students had a perfect 4.0 grade point average. Those students are Amanda Betts, Secondary Education major from Carthage, Kisa Clark, Mass Communications major from Neosho and Calib Ryan Van Dorn, Secondary Education major from Neosho.
Twelve students will graduate Magna Cum Laude with grade point averages of 3.80 to 3.89.
Thirteen students will graduate Cum Laude with grade point averages of 3.70 to 3.79.
Two students receiving an Associate Degree will graduate with First Honors, indicating a grade point average of 3.90 or above.
Two students receiving Associate Degrees will with Third Honors indicating a grade point average of 3.70-3.79.
KGCS will televise Saturday's commencement live. Viewers may see it over the air on digital channel 22, Cable One channel7 and Mediacom channel 77.
