JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - The Missouri Southern Foundation announced that a new scholarship in Accounting has been endowed in memory of the late Daniel R. Hayworth of Diamond, Mo.
The Missouri Southern State University Accounting Department and H.E. Williams, Inc., provided initial donations to the endowment. Friends of Mr. Hayworth will seek further donations to add to the fund.
Daniel R. Hayworth was born March 21, 1959, in Albuquerque, N.M., and moved to the Joplin area in 1985, from Weston, Mo.
Dan received his Bachelor of Arts in Music in 1982, and his Masters in Business Administration in 1985, from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
He practiced as a CPA with BKD in Joplin for over 25 years. He lost his life to a sudden illness in 2010.
“We remember Dan as a man with a passion about his profession and his life,” said MSSU Accounting Department Head David M. Smith. “We wish to give back to future generations as Dan gave to each of us.”
