Joplin High School Receives Gift of Music

JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - Monday night, Dec. 12, Missouri Southern State University hosted the Joplin High School Quiz Bowl team in the pilot taping of a new KXMS Radio project called BRAIN GAMES.

At the close of the program, J.H.S. student Laurna Alumbaugh, representing the winning squad in the demonstration match held in Corley Auditorium, presented a gift from Bridge Records, Inc. of the metro New York City area.

Bridge Records president Becky Starobin provided 109 classical compact discs from the Bridge Records catalogue to augment the rebuilding of the media library of the future new Joplin High School.

Joplin High quiz bowl coach Mike Vogt accepted the gift on behalf of Joplin High School.

KXMS Radio looks forward to 2012 with the addition of two other BRAIN GAMES in development: university clubs/fraternities trivia matches as well as university department challenges, according to Jeff Skibbe, General Manager of the station.
