FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MSSU Music Department
JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - A semester-capping performance by two great ensembles is planned for early May at Missouri Southern State University.
The MSSU Symphonic Band Ensemble and Symphonic Wind Ensemble will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5 in Taylor Performing Arts Center at MSSU.
The ensembles will perform the music of Sousa, Mackey, Romeyn, Jager, Balmages,Stamp, Verdi, Gillingham, and Press. The concert is a collection of music loosely organized with the theme of "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue."
The final piece is entitled "Wedding Dance" by Jacques Press.
No RSVP or tickets are necessary. The performance is free and open to the public. Everyone is invited.
