JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - Tickets are now available for the upcoming community play, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, an Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice production. The musical is based on the "Coat of Many Colors" story of Joseph in the Old Testament.
The musical will be presented on April 3 - 4 at the Taylor Performing Arts Center at Missouri Southern State University.
The pre-show will begin at 7:30 p.m. Curtain-time is 8 p.m. The play is brought to you by the Joplin Area Catholic Schools (JACS), in conjunction with The Judevine Center for Autism,
MSSU employees will note at least one very familiar face in the cast. Missouri Southern President Dr. Bruce Speck will play the part of Joseph's father Jacob.
The play features nearly 100 cast members. Children from the Judevine Center will be taking part in the production, which will include a large children's choir.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.jacss.org or by calling 1-877-837-6616. General Admission tickets are $10, with tickets for children under 12 set at $5. Premium seats are also available for $15, and $7.50 for 12 and under.
JACS has announced that it will donate a portion of its ticket sales to the Judevine Center in Joplin to help them with the purchase of new playground equipment. The Judevine Center for Autism offers a full range of services and supports to children and adults with autism and their families. It is based on its founding, client-centered philosophy that offers progress towards as much personal freedom and fulfillment as each person with ASD can achieve.
Lola Wade, English and Drama Instructor at McAuley Catholic High School, directs the play.
