FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Missouri Southern Foundation
JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - One of Missouri Southern State University's busiest auditoriums will have a new moniker officially bestowed on it tomorrow.
The auditorium in Webster Hall will officially be named William Robert Corley Auditorium, in recognition of a major gift to MSSU made by Corley, a longtime Joplin resident.
The ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6 in Corley Auditorium.
The Missouri Southern Board of Governors announced the acceptance of a major gift to the University at its meeting in August. The auditorium’s new name has been used on an unofficial basis since that time.
William Robert Corley, a longtime Joplin resident, provided what MSSU Board of Governors Chair H. Dwight Douglas described as a “seven figure” amount for endowment of unrestricted scholarships for students. For more information, contact the Missouri Southern Foundation at (417) 625-9396.
