JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - Students from the Missouri Southern State University Phi Beta Lambda business organization competed in the group's State Leadership Conference March 28-29 in Jefferson City, Mo.

The FBLA-PBL National Awards Program recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas. At the State Leadership Conferences, students compete in events testing their business knowledge and skills. Top state winners are then eligible to compete for national awards at the National Leadership Conference each summer.

A total of 203 students took part from 23 schools. Nearly 68 percent of competitors from the local organization placed at state.

 

The Missouri Southern group was the second largest group that competed at State Leadership Conference.

 

The mission of Phi Beta Lambda is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.

 

Winners will travel to Anaheim, Calif., on June 20-24 for the National Leadership Conference.
