JOPLIN, MO (SNS) – "Welcome Week" will take place at Missouri Southern State University Aug.17-24. Sponsored by a variety of campus offices, the week includes events designed to welcome students to the MSSU campus. The activities, free to students, include the following:

Sunday, Aug.17:
• Campus Craze, 6 – 8 p.m., Hughes Stadium. Freshmen tour campus, get free t-shirts and have fun.

Monday, Aug. 18:
• All Campus Picnic, 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on the Oval. Enjoy free food, fun, music and more! Free for students, faculty and staff.

Tuesday, Aug. 19:
• Laser Crystal Imaging Keychain Making, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., Library Coffee Shop. Keychains will be free for MSSU students.

• Special presentation “Diversity According to South Park and Family Guy,” delivered by Matt Glowack. 7 – 9 p.m., Webster Hall Auditorium.

Wednesday, Aug. 20
• Fall Forward, 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Sample the products of local businesses. Featuring music, food and fun.

Thursday, Aug. 21
• Custom-Made Dog Tag Making, 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on the Oval. Tags will be free for MSSU students.
• Free Movie, title TBA, 9 p.m. – 11 p.m., Residence Hall Lawn.

Friday, Aug. 22
• Lion’s Roar, 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Registered organizations show what campus clubs have to offer.
• Survivor Splash, 7 – 10 p.m., Residence Hall Lawn. Enjoy water slides, music and foam dance party.

Sunday, Aug. 24
• MSSU night at the Springfield Cardinals, 4 – ? p.m. Students pick up free tickets in the Student Activities Office in Kuhn Hall Room 105. Free transportation to Springfield and back. A limited amount of tickets will be available to MSSU students only on a first come, first served basis.
