JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - A Veterans’ Enterprise Luncheon will take place from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Friday, April 25 in Room 201 of Cornell Auditorium in the Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center at Missouri Southern State University. 
           

The cost for the forum is $50.  Veterans should call (417) 625-3128 about attending the event at no cost.  Those planning to attend should register no later than April 24.
           

The purpose of the forum is to provide men and women with information about educational, business, financial, and governmental programs and services that are available to American Veterans.  This Forum will feature a series of brief presentations from speakers about Veteran programs, several networking opportunities, and lunch.  Veterans are encouraged to come and meet the people who can assist them with Veteran benefits. 
           

Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m. The Joplin High School JROTC Honor Guard, Welcome, Introductions and Agenda for the day will be presented at 11 a.m.  Stan Baugh, Director of the Veteran Service Program of the Missouri Veteran Commission, will speak on “Veteran Programs."  Brian Ollenburger, Vice President of Liberty Bank, will speak on “V.A. Home Loans."
           

Lunch for participants, sponsored by Liberty Bank, will take place at 12 noon. 
           

At 12:45 p.m., Brent Jones, Lender Relations Specialist for the Small Business Administration, will speak on “Patriot Loans for Veterans.”  Kathy Feith, MSSSU Veterans’ Administration Liaison, will speak on “Veterans' Educational Financial Aid.”  Kelly Wilson, Director of MSSU Advising, Counseling and Testing Services, will speak on “MSSU Counseling Services.”
           

At 2 p.m., following a networking break, Dennis Fitzgerald, Procurement Consultant for Heartland PTAC, will speak on “Selling to the Government.”  At 2:30, Jim Krudwig, Lisa Robinson and Karen Bradshaw of the MSSU Small Business Development Center will speak on “SBDC Services & Workshops: Discounted Business Opportunities for Veterans.”
           

The day will wrap up with a panel discussion and question-answer session.
           

Participants who attend the forum will receive a certificate to attend a “Starting a Small Business: The First Steps" workshop for free (a $20 value).  They will also receive a certificate to attend one of the following workshops for free:  “How to Place Your Business on the Web,” “Introduction to Quicken Home and Business,” “Understanding Financial Statements,” “Marketing -Think Before You Spend,” and “The Basics of Writing a Business Plan” (a $20 value).
           

The day’s events are presented in partnership with the MSSU Small Business Development Center, Robert W. Plaster School of Business Administration, Liberty Bank, and the Barton County, Carthage, Joplin Area, Neosho, Nevada-Vernon County, Pineville-Jane Area and Webb City Chambers of Commerce.
