JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - The Southern Symphony Orchestra, under direction of Dr. Kexi Liu of the Missouri Southern State University Music Department, will perform a concert titled “Back to Bach” on Tuesday, March 11.

 

The concert will be 7:30 p.m. at Taylor Performing Arts Center on MSSU campus. Admission is free. A reception will follow the concert.

 

The program features music by J. S. Bach and Handel, two great masters of the Baroque period.

 

The Group 4 students of Suzuki Violin Academy will join the orchestra to perform J. S. Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins. The students will be the featured soloists.

 

The Joplin High School Orchestra, under direction of Terry Dolanc, will also perform in the concert.
