JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - Each of three nursing students at Missouri Southern State University received $200 check presentations from Dr. Jim Brown on behalf of Mr. George Greenlee, chair of the MSSU Writing Program Committee on Tuesday, March 11.

 

The students are:

 

Kathryn Carmichael
Senior nursing major
Rockford, Ill.

 

Alfred Maina
Senior nursing major
Nairobi, Kenya

 

Kim Smith
Senior nursing major
Belton, Mo.

 

Student papers were selected by faculty from Writing Intensive (WI) courses taught on campus. There was a limit of one submission per WI section. These students' papers were outstanding papers in the discipline of nursing, and represented three different sections of WI courses in nursing.
