JOPLIN, MO (SNS) – Honors program students will give Senior Honors Thesis presentations on Friday, April 25 at Missouri Southern State University. These theses constitute original research within the students’ programs of study.
A short reception will follow each presentation. The college community and public are invited to attend.

Both Chloroform and Bromoform will form dihalocarbenes when added to a strong hydroxide solution, that will then react with alkenes to form 1,1-dihalocyclopropane compounds. Sara investigated to see if iodoform could also be used successfully
"Effects of Listening to or Reading Violent Rap Lyrics on Hostility Levels in Undergraduates"

The purpose of this research was to establish whether or not violent rap lyrics increased hostility compared to nonviolent rap lyrics and also to see if there is a difference in listening to the lyrics or reading them. Eighty-five participants were either subjected to audio lyrics or asked to read them. Then they completed a 5-point Likert hostility scale.
