FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - A public forum for a finalist for Missouri Southern State University's Presidency will include questions submitted by the MSSU campus community and the public.
Dr. Bruce Speck will visit the MSSU campus on Wednesday, Jan. 16 for an 11 a.m. public forum in the Billingsly Student Center 2nd floor lounge followed by a noon reception open to the campus community and the general community at the same location.
Dr. Joe Wiley, also a finalist for Missouri Southern State
University President, has withdrawn his name from consideration for the
presidency of MSSU. Mr. Dwight Douglas, chair of the Search Committee, has confirmed the
withdrawal. Dr. Wiley has accepted the presidency at Freed-Hardeman
University in Henderson, Tenn., Mr. Douglas stated."We wish Dr. Wiley well in his new position," Mr. Douglas stated. He
also said that "the search process will go forward as planned with the
interview of Dr. Bruce Speck.
Questions should be broad in nature and focus on important issues at Missouri Southern. As time permits, submitted questions will be asked to the candidate by Mr. Dwight Douglas, Chair of the Search Committee and Chair of the MSSU Board of Governors.
